Daghestan State Pedagogical University (DSPU) is the largest scientific and educational institution in the region which number of students amounts over 28,000. Five branches of the University are located in Daghestan cities of Derbent, Buynaksk, Khasavyurt, Izberbash and Kizilyurt. DSPU is structurally divided into 5 institutes, 23 faculties, 93 departments, 5 inter-university centres, post-graduate courses (29 specialities), doctoral institution (3 specialities), scientific thesis councils (14 specialities)
